Isn't true high protein going kill the kidneys?

I have 3 Miniature Schnauzer, as i knew 22%-25% protein need for daily dog food. Would like asking nutritional need for dog. About have high proteins dog food. Though higher is better, more is not, excess protein is filtered through the kidneys and excreted. Isn't true high protein going kill the kidneys?
