Lightbulb Who Wants To Be A Volunteer In Penang?

We could not deny that as of current, the problem of strays is not under control. Due to this, we are currently in the process of looking for a location to be used as an animal rescue home so that people like ourselves, with space constraint at home but yet would like to do our part in heping to cope with problem of strays, to have a place to keep the animals until we find them a permanent home. Once the place is officially kick-off, we would need unlimited volunteers to help out in running and maintaining the place. Those who are willing or interested to join our team, please email us at puphope@gmail.com. State your name, age, location (you just need to state the area), email and contact number. We seriously need the support of the public to have the shelter kicking and running as soon as possible. So, act now! =)

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
Winson & Ellen

There's a group of folks going round in the middle of the night feeding strays till the wee hours of the morning. Kind hearted move but the strays are thriving under these conditions.

Should spay them while they are at it, that way the population will be controlled. Easier said than done of course, catching strays is a tough, tough job.

Exact same question asked by another person in fb :) Here's my response :

Feeding them will only expand the population, not control or reduce it. I've been doing a study on the stray population around my area and it has increase 3 folds in a short period of 8 months. I've also seen these guys feeding the dogs in the middle of the night

Keep feeding and don't control will only lead to explosion of the existing population base. There are already 4 packs currently forming all within a radius of 500 metres around my house comprising of 4-8 individual dogs within each pack.

Well, then I do hope you're doing your part since you've got some statistics via your studies :) Some of us here do TNR, some temporary fosterers, some pet rescuing, some do volunteering with PF etc etc etc. If we leave them out there to starve doesn't help either. I do wonder tho what has feeding got to do with increase of strays. Errr...well fed cats and dogs mate more? I think its more to do with them not being neutered.
