Default Help with cat food

Greetings. I'm new to this forum (or any kind of forum for that matter) and in need of help with picking the right food for my fussy cat. When I say fussy, I mean real FUSSY.
I have a one and a half-year old cat that used to live at the back of my house until I took him in about 8 months ago. He had a great appetite in the beginning. I gave him Whiskas and Firskies, both wet and dry. Occasionally, I gave him boiled fish with rice. Then about 4 months ago, he stopped eating as much as he would. He'd take a sniff and walk right past his bowl. That's when I started giving him only boiled fish and raw food (chicken). He's thin now. Not skinny, just thin.
After doing much online reading, I got him Brit Care Cat Indoor Chicken & Rice. the pet store owner recommended it saying it's highly palatable. Of course, fussy Kitty disagreed. He refused it and would only eat a few kibbles when hungry. So. it's been boiled fish and raw food to this day. Today, I discovered I still have a little bit of Friskies kibbles. Tried it and he was ravenous!
So, my question is what is the most palatable cat food out there that no cat can refuse? Any recommendation/success stories? Price should be reasonable (Royal Canin is reasonable to me). Please help me and thank you. And a thousand apologies for the long post.

Hi Noobcatlover,

You can try those food with a really heavy smell. I don't recommend RC but if the condition is really bad, you might want to bring to vet to check first cause cat don't show when they are sick. RC indeed have a strong smell and would cause your cat to keep on eating it. Something like junk food and can make them fat.

Other than that, you might want to try Acana or Orijen or Feline Caviar or ANF. They too, have strong smell and they can make your cat fatter. For me, Acana/Orijen(same company), FC and ANF is a lot more better than RC. They are almost the same price and if you see that RC is reasonable, Acana should be too for you.

Hope it helps.

Thank you so much Rayquaza17. I can't bear to see him looking thin any longer. I think I'll go out and get Acana; everyone's raving about it! Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
Again, thank you so much.

On an unrelated note, I just noticed your picture. Is that your cat? I could have sworn it was mine! Lol. He looks just like Kitty.
